Apart from Google Assistant and Apple Siri, the Amazon Alexa is another excellent voice assistant currently. In fact, the Amazon Echo, which is Alexa-supported, is arguably the most widely used smart speaker today. Luckily, you don’t need to spend hundreds of money to get this high-end smart speaker. That’s because you can connect your Alexa-compatible device to a mere Bluetooth device and enjoy the intelligent Alexa. So, this guide will show you how to connect Alexa to Bluetooth speakers hassle-free.
Part 1. A Step-by-Step Guide — Connect Alexa to Bluetooth Speakers
To connect the Echo to a Bluetooth speaker, you, first of all, need to arm yourself with the following necessities:
- A Bluetooth speaker.
- An Alexa-enabled device, like Amazon Fire TV, Echo Dot, etc.
- Android 5.0 or later or iOS 9.0 or later
Now apply these steps to pair your devices:
Step 1: Speak to your Alexa-powered device by saying Alexa, pair or Alexa, Bluetooth to enable the pairing mode. The Alexa device will respond with Searching.
Step 2: Turn on your Bluetooth speaker to enable the pairing mode. Your Bluetooth speaker will respond once the pairing is enabled.
Step 3: On your Android/iOS smartphone or tablet, download the Alexa App, and sign up using your Amazon account.
Step 4: On the app, click the Devices tab at the bottom-right corner and then hit the + icon. Now select the Add Device .
Step 5: Ensure that your Bluetooth speaker is on pairing mode and then click the Speaker in the app. You can now choose your Bluetooth speaker on the list. It’s important to remember your Bluetooth speaker’s name so that you can reconnect it back to the Alexa via verbal instruction in the future.
Step 6: If the pairing is successful, Alexa will respond by saying Now connected to (your device name) .
Note: Your Alexa-enabled device will still act as the server to the Bluetooth speaker. Simply put, your Alexa device is the input, while the Bluetooth speaker is the output.

Final Words
There you have it! The next time you want to connect your Bluetooth speaker to Alexa, just say “Pair Bluetooth” and enjoy it! Take note that Amazon recommends placing your devices at least 3ft. apart for a seamless voice command. However, I find this to be a bit overblown unless you’re using a soundbar or home stereo system.
